Wednesday, April 17 - Villa Communale Gardens

Villa Communale Gardens

Florence Trevelyan, a wealthy Englishwoman, created, in the late 1800s, a beautiful Mediterranean garden which was donated to the city in the 1920s.

I've eliminated many of the photos with people, but the locals love the gardens and they come to read or play games in the open areas.  It is a much used place of joy and relaxation.  I think Florence Trevelyan would have been pleased.

In addition to the specimen plants, pathways and views of the sea, it is known for its' eccentric Chinese pagoda style pavilions.
