Sunday, April 14 - Castelmola

Castelmola is a tiny town (to the right of the castle which I will climb later in the week), situated on the top of a rock with expansive views of the sea - much like Cefalù.  Historians speculate that Castelmola may have been the site of the ancient acropolis of Tauromenion, the original Taormina.

Behind Sayoko is the road we travelled to reach Castelmola.

Look at the rocks on the roofs.  The weight prevents the wind from tearing off the tiles.
